Jeanne McDermott
July-August 2007

We may not have jazz on the stage (we're working on that), but we've got plenty on the walls at Frederick Cellars. Featured throughout July and August are bold, bright paintings of jazz musicians in action by Frederick artist Jeanne McDermott — a treat for both music and art lovers alike.

Craig Leonardi

Leonardi's abstractions are closely cropped renderings, often of familiar but mundane objects, and more conceptual than expressive. Leonardi's acrylic renderings, mounted on non-traditional sculptural framing devices, focus on the textures of industrial growth and decay - from concrete and steel to rusty scrap metal and waste disposal units.

Jim Germaux

Also a trained printmaker and sculptor, Jim Germaux paints in an expressive, free, organic style with emphasis on elegant line and vibrant color. His work examines our relationships with our environment and captivates the many moods of the human psyche.
