Frederick Cellars, our wines

Devotion to wine ranges from "just a fermented grape beverage" to something bordering on religion. We’re somewhere in the middle—an important, but not all consuming, part of life. We think wine is about discovery. We’re especially passionate about discovering Maryland wines and Maryland wine growing areas. Wines should be fun, not intimidating. And not all wines suit all tastes. Some like big, bold reds, while others prefer a lighter touch. Some like drier, some like sweeter, but all are welcome in our tent.

	Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 Mountain Creek Vineyards From Maryland’s Catoctin wine region, this distinctive, lighter bodied and complex wine has deep color and excellent balance. Winner: Bronze Medal Winemasters Competition 2010 Bronze Medal MD Governor's Cup 2010

	Heritage Red 2009 Frederick and Washington COunties Amedium-bodied dry red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The result is soft tannins with bold fruit. Winner: Silver Medal MD Governor's Cup 2010 Silver Medal Winemasters Competition 2010

	Frederick Red Washington County This semi-sweet red wine is made from Cabernet Franc grown in Washington County. Light-bodied and easy drinking. Enjoy as is or use it to make a great mulled wine or Sangria. Winner: Bronze Medal MD Governor's Cup 2009

	Winter Red Washington County This semi-sweet red wine is made from Cabernet Franc grown in Washington County. Light-bodied and easy drinking. Enjoy as is or use it to make a great mulled wine or Sangria. New release: October 2012


	Chardonnay 2010 Limited Supply This reserve Chardonnay from our vineyard in Middletown spent 8 months gently aging in soft oak. The result is a rich, smooth Chardonnay that is easy on the mouth. We've left it natural, so you may see some "wine diamonds" after chilling. They're perfectly ok- you can filter, decant or just ignore them. Winner: Bronze Medal MD Governor's Cup 2010


	City Lights Limited Supply This aromatic table wine is crisp, clean and semi-dry. A slight tartness, with a clean and dry finish. 1% residual sugar. Great with hummus, mushrooms and spinach salads. Winner: Bronze Medal Winemasters Competition 2010

	Rosé Unavailable A gorgeous dry rosé with hints of peach on the nose and slight strawberry and spice notes on the palette. This is summer in a bottle -- a perfect warm-weather wine which is light, refreshing, delicious. Think summer salads and chicken, pork chops or salmon on the grill.

	Eye of the Oriole This smooth blend with a glorious blush is a semi-dry sipping wine that pairs well with any occasion; 2.5% residual sugar. Winner: Silver Medal MD Governor's Cup 2009

	Trail's End A fruity semi-sweet Traminette/Seyval/Vidal blend; a wonderful sipping wine that pairs well with fish or fowl; 2.5% residual sugar. Winner: Best in Class MD Governor's Cup 2012 Gold Medal MD Governor's Cup 2008 Gold Medal Winemasters Competition 2010

	Mer de Glace A sweet dessert wine made from the Muscat grape; serves well as an aperitif. 17.8% residual sugar. Winner: Bronze Medal MD Governor's Cup 2009
